The X is the match

HireX exists for one reason: the GTA runs on shift work, and the people who do it deserve an agency that treats placement like a craft — not a numbers game.

Who we are

A staffing agency built on the warehouse floor, not in a boardroom

HireX Employment is a Mississauga-based temporary help agency placing workers into warehouses, distribution centres, food production plants, manufacturing lines and construction sites across the Greater Toronto Area.

Our recruiters have driven the reach trucks, worked the packing lines and held the fall-arrest tickets themselves. That changes how we match. We don't send "a body" — we send the right certification, on the right shift, within a commute the worker can actually sustain. That's why our workers stay on assignment longer and why our client facilities keep calling back.

Every placement runs through the same checks: identity and work-status verification, certificate validation (we look at the actual card, not a checkbox), a safety orientation, and a clear written rundown of pay rate, shift and site rules before day one. Workers are paid weekly, every Friday, with proper deductions, vacation pay and WSIB coverage — no cash games, no surprises.

What we stand on

Four rules we don't bend

Safety before speed

No worker goes to a site without the certs the job demands — verified, not self-declared. We'd rather fill an order a day late than send someone unprepared onto a dock.

Pay that's never a question

Weekly pay, every Friday, with a readable pay stub. Rate is confirmed in writing before the first shift and never changes without notice.

Straight answers

If we don't have a shift that fits, we say so. If a client site has issues, we tell workers up front. Trust is the only thing a staffing agency really sells.

People over placements

A worker who's matched well shows up, stays and gets hired permanent. We measure ourselves on retention and temp-to-perm conversions, not raw headcount.

How a placement happens

From application to first shift

STEP 01 · ~7 MIN

You apply online

One form covers everything — certifications, shift preferences, transport, documents. Your licences and ID upload straight into your secure worker file, so you never have to bring paper twice.

STEP 02 · WITHIN 24 HRS

A recruiter calls you

A real person reviews your file, verifies your certificates and talks through what you're looking for — rate, shift, commute, how soon you can start.

STEP 03 · USUALLY SAME WEEK

You get matched

We line your file up against live orders. You get the site name, address, rate, shift time and supervisor's name in writing before you say yes.

STEP 04 · DAY ONE & BEYOND

You work, we back you up

Safety orientation on arrival, a check-in call in your first week, and weekly pay every Friday. Issues on site? You call us, we handle it.

FAQ

Questions workers actually ask

Does it cost anything to register with HireX?

No — and it never will. In Ontario it's illegal for a temp agency to charge a worker for finding them work. Our clients pay us; you keep your full wage.

When and how do I get paid?

Weekly, every Friday, by direct deposit. Your rate is confirmed in writing before your first shift. Pay stubs show hours, rate, vacation pay and all deductions clearly.

I don't have a forklift licence. Can I still work?

Absolutely. Most of our orders are general labour, packaging, sanitation and material handling roles with no licence required. If you want to move up, we can point you to certified forklift training providers in the GTA.

I'm on a work permit / I'm a permanent resident. Can I apply?

Yes. We place Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and holders of valid open or employer-eligible work permits, including PGWP holders. You'll show your documents once at registration; we keep them on file securely so sites don't ask you again.

What safety gear do I need to bring?

You'll need your own CSA-approved (green patch) safety boots and your own hi-vis safety vest — both are required at virtually every site. Other PPE like hard hats, gloves and hearing protection is supplied by the site or by us.

Can a temp job turn permanent?

Often. Many of our clients use temp-to-perm as their main hiring channel — work well for a few months and the site hires you directly, with our blessing. It's one of the numbers we're proudest of.

What if I have a problem at the work site?

You call us, not the site, and we deal with it — whether it's pay, hours, safety or treatment. As your employer of record, that's literally our job.

Will you ever ask for my SIN online?

No. The online application never asks for your SIN or banking details. Those are collected in person (or via secure payroll onboarding) only after you've been offered an assignment.

Sound like your kind of agency?

Apply once. We'll do the matching, the paperwork and the follow-up — you do the work and collect the pay.
